Insights Forum Ecommerce Brazil 2024

On July 30-31 and August 1, we had the 15th edition of the Forum Ecommerce Brazil 2024. This year, the event changed its location to the Anhembi District and saw significant growth, being 50% larger in size. With over 25,000 participants, the event featured more than 350 speakers and 270 exhibitors.

As usual, here are some insights captured during this edition.

The Art of Ecommerce

The main theme of the Forum Ecommerce Brazil 2024 is "The Art of Ecommerce," highlighting the importance of the human being as the protagonist in the digital scene and art as its ultimate expression. The event promoted discussions on valuing ecommerce professionals and using technologies with creative practices, emphasizing that even in a highly technological world, the human element and creativity are essential for success.

Technological Trends in Forum Ecommerce Brazil 2024

One of the main points discussed, as seen in various events, was the personalization of the customer experience. Companies like Natura and Monks highlighted the use of Artificial Intelligence to create more personalized and efficient shopping experiences. Additionally, the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies was pointed out as an emerging trend that promises to transform how consumers interact with products online.

Live Commerce and Omnichannel

Live commerce once again emerged as a highlight, with several presentations showing how this strategy can increase engagement and sales. The Omnichannel strategy, which combines different sales and communication channels to offer a cohesive shopping experience, was also widely discussed.

Logistic Efficiency

Logistic efficiency was a crucial point addressed at the event. Companies like Drops highlighted the importance of optimizing the supply chain to improve the customer experience and reduce costs. In the 2023 edition, I saw several solutions and new companies entering our market, and this edition continued to see this increase. There are several innovative logistics solutions showing how technology can be used to make processes more agile and efficient.

Digital Payments

Digital payments were identified as an area of significant advancement. The adoption of new payment methods, such as digital wallets and cryptocurrencies, is rapidly growing and was one of the central topics of the discussions. These technologies are facilitating faster and safer transactions, benefiting both consumers and merchants.

The Forum Ecommerce Brazil 2024 featured renowned speakers like Silvio Meira, Chief Scientist of The Digital Strategy Company, and Miguel Nicolelis, neuroscientist and professor emeritus at Duke University. Their lectures provided deep insights into innovation and the future of ecommerce. Here are some contributions seen during the edition:

Innovation and the Future of Ecommerce

The event was a showcase of the innovations shaping the future of ecommerce. This truly is the kind of event that should be on the agenda of everyone working in digital.

Areas for Improvement

Following feedback from many participants of this edition of the Forum Ecommerce Brazil 2024, I could identify some issues that need to be addressed for 2025:

  • Overcrowding: Some participants reported that the event was very crowded, making it difficult to move around and participate in some activities. This has been an issue for several years, even after changing the location to accommodate 25,000 people.

  • Wi-Fi Quality: There were complaints about the quality and stability of the Wi-Fi connection, which hampered the experience of those who needed to stay connected during the event. For a Technology and Digital event, this is a significant issue. Those needing to connect unfortunately had to leave the event.

  • Content Diversity: Some participants felt a lack of diversity in the topics covered, desiring more lectures on emerging and innovative subjects.

  • Parking: I noticed in various groups the difficulty many faced in finding parking at the venue. Despite being a large structure, it could not accommodate the demand of the number of participants.

Another critical point mentioned by some participants is the event’s sustainability. Many suggested that the Forum Ecommerce Brazil could adopt more sustainable practices, such as reducing the use of disposable materials, promoting recycling, and encouraging the use of public transportation or shared rides to reduce the event’s carbon footprint.

I hope to have contributed with the insights I gathered during the days of the Forum Ecommerce. As for the 2025 edition, details such as date, location, and speakers are usually announced a few months before the event. The Ecommerce Brazil team also produces several events throughout the year in various cities, focusing on different themes. It’s worth keeping an eye on this schedule.
